FOUR YEARS LATER: WHAT DOES ONDO’S AUGUST GCK STORY HAVE TO DO WITH OTA?
Four years after Ondo’s August GCK encounter, Ota is stepping into a strikingly similar chapter— but is the resemblance merely coincidence, or is there more to the story?

Some coincidences are easy to overlook. Others make you stop and look twice.
Four years after Ondo City welcomed the Global Crusade with Kumuyi (GCK) train in August 2022 under the theme “Triumphant Power,” the evangelical campaign returns to another South-West destination— Ota, Ogun State— from August 26 to 30, 2026, with “Total Transformation Through Christ” as its theme.
And there is a striking detail.
The Ondo gathering was held at Anglican Grammar School. The Ota venue also carries the Anglican Grammar School name.
Same month. Similar venue name. Different city. Different theme.
Coincidence? Perhaps.
But the similarities become more intriguing when one considers what has reportedly happened around previous GCK outreaches— sometimes even before the first service begins.
During publicity ahead of the Ondo and Ogun GCK , accounts circulated of people described as mentally disturbed who reportedly experienced dramatic changes and returned to normalcy after encountering the activities surrounding the GCK publicity outreach.
Such accounts naturally invite different interpretations— faith, coincidence, personal experience or something beyond easy explanation.
But they raise a compelling question: Can the story of a crusade sometimes begin before its opening day?
That is where the Ota chapter becomes particularly interesting.
The GCK train is expected to bring together preaching, teaching, prayer, music, healing, testimonies and live connections — but beyond the programme schedule is the human-interest question of what people may experience along the way.
As publicity gives way to the D-Day, Ota is about to witness another chapter.
And perhaps August itself offers the cleverest clue.
August “breaks” in Ogun — but will anything else break?
Will barriers break?
Will old stories give way to new testimonies?
Will lives change in ways that become the stories people remember long after the crusade ends?
Those are questions only the coming days can answer.
For now, one thing is certain: Ota, Ogun State, August 26–30, 2026.
If the Ondo experience offers any reason for curiosity, this may be one August visitation worth making time for.
Sometimes, the most revealing part of a story is not what you are told to expect — but what you eventually witness.
