INSIDE DCLM’S 2026 CHILDREN HOLIDAY BIBLE SCHOOL: RAISING CHILDREN WITH FAITH, CHARACTER AND PRACTICAL LIFE SKILLS

As parents seek meaningful ways to keep children engaged during the long school break, the Deeper Christian Life Ministry (DCLM) has concluded its 2026 Children Holiday Bible School (CHBS), a week-long programme that blended Bible learning, entrepreneurship, leadership training, creative activities and life skills.
The initiative aims to equip children for a balanced future through spiritual, intellectual and personal development.

For many parents, the long vacation season usually presents a familiar dilemma: how to keep children productively engaged while schools are closed.
Beyond recreation, families increasingly seek programmes that build character, improve learning, develop practical skills and provide a safe environment where children can grow.

That challenge was at the heart of the 2026 CHBS organized by the DCLM, a programme that brought together thousands of children across designated centres for a week of learning, spiritual awakening, mentorship and personal development.
Held from July 27 to August 1, 2026, this year’s edition, themed “Prepare,” focused on helping children become spiritually grounded, academically motivated and equipped with practical and entrepreneurial skills.

The programme featured Bible studies, leadership talks, interactive learning sessions, educational games, creative workshops, film shows, music, entrepreneurial classes and activities designed to build confidence, discipline and teamwork.
CHILDREN SHARE LESSONS BEYOND THE CLASSROOM

For many participants, the experience extended well beyond holiday fun.
An eight-year-old participant said the programme taught her that success begins with preparation.

“I learnt that I should prepare for my future now and never give up on my dreams.”
A 12-year-old attendee described determination as one of the biggest lessons learned during the week.
“I learnt to be determined and work hard.”

Another participant revealed after the closing session, that “the food provided was delicious. I want this programme to happen again next year.”
An attendee vividly reflected on the scriptural teachings of the General Superintendent relayed on the D-Day of the event.

A 6-year-old participant said “I learnt that I should not be disobedient” while others appreciated the efforts of their facilitators.
Other children said they particularly enjoyed the entrepreneurial classes, where they were introduced to practical ideas about creativity, productivity and developing useful skills.

Most parents appreciated the balance between spiritual instruction and practical learning, as the initiative helped children use their holiday in a purposeful way.
COMMUNITY IMPACT ACROSS ONDO STATE SOUTH

In Ondo State South, Beulah Group served as one of the designated centres, receiving children from neighbouring communities including Agiodo, Akinjagunla, Omotayo and Lotogbe.
Volunteer teachers and church workers coordinated the week-long activities with support from parents and members of the ministry.
Facilitators said the programme also welcomed first-time participants and children from different backgrounds, reinforcing its growing community reach.

A VISION OF HOLISTIC DEVELOPMENT
The annual Children Holiday Bible School reflects DCLM’s longstanding commitment to holistic human development.
Inorder to balance cognitive, affective and psychomotor domain, the ministry combines biblical teaching with education, leadership development, character formation and practical skills that prepare children for everyday life.

With the combined efforts of volunteer teachers, church workers, parents and ministry leaders, CHBS continues to provide a platform where children discover purpose, build confidence and develop skills that can serve them throughout life.

The initiative seeks to inspire children to become disciplined learners, compassionate citizens, innovative thinkers and morally responsible leaders capable of making positive contributions to their communities.

For many families, the programme offered more than an engaging holiday activity—it represented an investment in the future, preparing children academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually for the opportunities and responsibilities that lie ahead.
