WORLD BOOK OF RECORDS HONOUR: KUMUYI SAYS ‘AGE IS COMING, BUT GOD HAS BLESSED US WITH GOOD HEALTH’; CALLS RECOGNITION ‘AN IMPETUS TO DO MORE’

For many, a global honour like the World Book of Records at 85 would be the crowning moment of a lifetime. For  Pastor Williams Folorunsho Kumuyi, it became the starting point for a new chapter.

‎As Christian leaders, international guests and dignitaries gathered for the presentation of the award, the General Superintendent, Convener of the Global Crusade with Kumuyi (GCK), educationist and mathematician reflected less on the years behind him than on God’s faithfulness that has sustained him for the years ahead.

‎Responding after receiving the honour, Kumuyi dedicated the recognition to God, saying it was not a personal achievement but a testimony of divine grace.

“‎I do appreciate the honour, the privilege offered by the World Book of Records, and I receive this honour not just for myself and my wife, but I receive this for the glory of God, because Christ is the one who has made the ultimate sacrifice for the salvation of the world.

God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever in any nation, any continent, any generation believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life.”

‎Speaking further, he explained the biblical conviction behind his actions, stressing that “God has called us one by one to serve humanity and to serve the creation of God, and it’s a privilege by His grace—not because we’re worthy, not because of anything in us. It is all of grace and all from Him.

As a result of His impact on my personal life, on me and my wife, my wife and I dedicated ourselves to the Lord to serve His people, not for reward, not for anything. He’s done enough for us already, and every moment of the rest of our lives is rededicated unto Him, so that His will, His work and His way will be the ultimate and the final in our lives.”

‎The spiritual monarch stressed that even though it appears age is coming on, he is encouraged to do more. “I was 85 years of age last month, but I believe there are people who have lived beyond the normal age span of their countries, and the Lord has blessed us, mummy and I, with good health. I pray that this next stage will be the beginning, the platform and the springboard to reach the Asian continent.”

‎Rather than seeing the recognition as the pinnacle of his ministry spanning several decades and continents, Kumuyi described it as fresh motivation to pursue even greater impact.

‎“I’m looking forward to working along with you, and this award is received for all of us together as an encouragement that we are now going to reach more than ever before. Once again, I’m grateful for the recognition of the World Book of Records. But this recognition is an encouragement, an impetus to rise again and do what we have not done before.”

‎Earlier, while presenting the award, Dr. Eliezer, Joint Secretary of the World Book of Records, London, described Kumuyi as “the father of millions, a motivator, an excellent speaker and a renowned man of God,” whose ministry has transformed lives across the world through the Deeper Christian Life Ministry and GCK platform.

‎The presentation also featured prayers led by Dr. U. Eliasa, who thanked God for the lives of Kumuyi and his wife, Esther, describing them as a couple whose sacrificial service and dedication have impacted millions across Africa, India and beyond.

‎For many in attendance, the ceremony celebrated a lifetime of influence. For Kumuyi, however, it represented something different—a fresh reminder that, despite advancing age, God’s faithfulness, good health and grace remain.

According to him, the award would become the beginning, the platform and the springboard for expanding the Gospel across the Asian continent, for what he believes is the next chapter of his global ministry.
